Remote Airplanes - First Timer Tips
Nothing can be more exciting than flying remote airplanes and having full control on the twists and turns that they do all at the same time. If you want to know more about flying your remote airplanes the easy, fast way to understand the basics, remember these tips to get you started:
1. Never hesitate about flying your aircraft. Of course, if you never take that first giant step, you will never really learn how to do the right thing. Sometimes, an airplane crash is really inevitable, especially for those who are just learning the basics of this hobby. But later on as you learn from your flying mistakes, you will also realize that there is really much more to worry about than taking off for the first time. Of course, it is very normal to worry about losing every penny that you have spent over your precious remote airplane, but if you will follow the basic moves in taking off and just gliding with the wind, you will never experience that rough disastrous landing.
2. Take advantage of the wind. Obviously, if you want maximum performance of your engine and longer flight times, go with the wind. You can determine the wind direction by simple tools, or you can also throw some light materials into the air so that you can easily predict where the wind is actually heading. Just make sure that you do not fly your remote airplanes on a very windy day. You can make a simple test if your remote airplane can withstand the current wind velocity in your location. Just tie any light material to your antenna transmitter and hold your radio controller almost parallel to the ground. If it is indeed too windy, the material will be as parallel to the ground as the radio controller, and if the angle of inclination of that material with respect to the ground is less than 30 degrees, then we are good to go. Be sure to follow these directions if you do not want your remote airplanes to be an instant disaster in a very windy day.
3. For beginners, you can ask help from a friend to toss your remote airplane off the ground so that you can fully maneuver your plane with your radio controller on takeoff. Just imagine tossing the plane all by yourself as you try to get your hands back to the controls—that would be pretty such a hassle especially for first-timers.
4. Start with the basic flight patterns. So here comes the real thing, and all you can ever think of is making that nice aerobatic move that will amaze everyone—we will get to that very soon. But before you can earn that skill we should concentrate first in mastering the basic ones. A very simple flight pattern would be an oval-shaped loop that will keep your hands in control of every movement of your remote airplane. Just make sure that you master this skill in both direction orientations—left to right, and vice versa, and then clockwise to counterclockwise.
